From the Truck to the Software
My name is Cory. A few years back, my wife Sarah and I were in a tight spot financially. We had a truck, some muscle, and a willingness to work hard. So we started hauling.
We hauled junk. Furniture. Construction debris. Whatever people needed moved. We drove all over town, answered texts at 10pm, quoted jobs off the top of our heads, and showed up early every morning. We were good at it — but we were drowning in chaos.
Quotes got lost in text message threads. Jobs got double-booked. We couldn't remember which customers owed us money. Sarah was keeping a spreadsheet that had become a monster. I was drawing routes on paper the night before. We were leaving money on the table every single day because we didn't have the right tools.
The software that existed was built for enterprise companies with IT teams. It was expensive, confusing, and clearly not designed by anyone who had ever hauled a couch up three flights of stairs. So I decided to build what we actually needed.
I spent nights and weekends learning to code. I built the first version of what would become APX Haul while we were still running our hauling business — Signature Concierge Haul. We used it ourselves first, found the gaps, fixed them, and used it again. Everything in APX Haul came from a real problem we hit in the field.
The AI estimator? Born from the 47th time I had to mentally calculate a quote while standing in someone's driveway. The dispatch optimizer? From the day I drove 40 extra minutes because I scheduled jobs in the wrong order. The photo estimator? Because customers always underestimate what they have.
We're not a Silicon Valley startup with venture capital and ping pong tables. We're haulers who built software. And that's exactly why APX Haul works the way it does.
Today, Signature Concierge Haul is our living proof of concept — a real hauling business running entirely on APX Haul. Every feature you see in our software, we've used ourselves. Every problem we've solved, we've felt ourselves.
